ļ»æYour breath is a miraculous tool you can use to magnetise life in your direction. Pranayama means breath control and our life force energy, prana, is influenced by the breath. Through your breathing practice, you can use the prana that you cultivate, to guide your life and get closer to your truth.
Stress is a low-vibe emotion which can disconnect us from our highest selves. You might think this is a bad thing, but there really are no "negative" emotions. Even our anxiety carries a lot of wisdom, and when we tune in, we can use this intelligence to return home. With our practice, we can also build resilience and rise into our highest evolvement.
So, in today's episode, I'm going to guide you through a calming breathing technique that will help you slow down - so you can tap into your highest and most powerful self.
It's called Viloma Pranayama, or the "interrupted breath".
To do this, the breath is split into 3 parts. First, you'll breathe into your belly, then your lower ribs and heart. We'll do this on the inhale first, with a complete exhale, then we'll reverse it, and then we'll put it all together.
Find a comfortable seat, and take a deep breath in and empty all the air out.
Now inhale through your nose, filling up your lower belly, your lower ribs, your heart. Then exhale fully through your nose. Try that two more times on your own.
Now we'll reverse it. Inhale fully and then exhale, emptying the air from your heart, your lower ribs, your belly. And again, two more times like that on your own.
Now we'll put that together. Inhale, and feel the air spilling into your lower belly, your lower ribs, your heart. Exhale, and release the air from your heart, your lower ribs, your belly. Keep going like this on your own, twice more.
After your last round, let go of that breathing pattern so your body's just breathing for you.
How do you feel?
Hopefully a little calmer and more spacious on the inside.
This is where you access your highest and best self.
